We are glad to publish the 16th issue of IPH Magazine, a technical and scientific journal whose goal is to disseminate and promote knowledge within the fields of architecture, engineering and management regarding healthcare constructions.

It is due to the effort and generosity of professors, researchers and professionals that IPH Magazine has been growing as a reference to those willing to have access to the most updated works concerning the hospital care industry.

This issue comprises recent researches with respect to the hospital care industry, many involving architecture. The text "An analysis of the sectorization and comfort in contemporary children's hospitals" investigates the sectorization of flows and comfort of two children's hospital, offering solutions and alternatives to meet the needs of users. The article "A pathway for death: the flow and connections between environments and its occupants" carries out a bibliography verification about death and points to the need for more research. The case study " "Casinha": The story of the Birth Center in Rio de Janeiro that became a model for humanized labor and resistance to the hardships of public management" discusses the influence of sensitive features in the ambience over how users perceive healthcare spaces.

The importance of preserving the quality of the air, mainly inside ICUs, is presented in "Risk of Infections caused by the presence of the fungus Aspergillus.sp: remodeling hospitals and climatization systems". Using reports from microbiological tests of the air inside the ICU of a high-complexity public hospital, the text discusses the presence of microorganisms that pose a threat to human health, especially the Aspergillus fungus, which is associated with construction sites and air treatment systems.

Finally, the research "Health Financing Systems Worldwide" analyzes global affairs apropos of the budgetary maintenance of health systems, regardless of local differences or adopted policies. An urgent matter not only for managers but for everyone involved in this industry.

For the 2019 issue, we would like to thank the authors, who have submitted their work to the public scrutiny, and above all the peer reviewers, who so patiently appraised the texts, suggesting corrections and adjustments.

We restate that IPH Magazine is an open space for dialogue and we await everyone's contribution. Enjoy your reading.
