Information for IPH alumni As sponsor of the college, after 2008 IPH remained responsible for issuing documents for its alumni. Such responsibility ended on April 12 2011, when Fernando Haddad, Minister of Education at the time, determined that all documents regarding the courses of IPH College should be issued exclusively by the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp). The first one in Brazil

IPH’s College of Hospital Administration was the first one in Brazil. Courses began on February 1st 1974, with an opening lecture by Niversindo Cherubin, Coordinator of Medical and Hospital Assistance at the Ministry of Health. The first class graduated in 1976. Soon after, in February 1977, the Brazilian Government granted full accreditation to the institution, under Decree 79268-77. IPH’s College of Administration pioneered in its field, remaining very active during the 70s and 80s, and being recognized as a reference in hospital administration training in Brazil. Unfortunately, due to an increase in competition, the Institute went through financial difficulties during the 1990s. Therefore, despite all efforts, in 2008 IPH voluntarily asked the Secretary of Higher Education (Sesu) to withdraw the accreditation of IPH’s College of Administration, leading to the termination of all its courses.
