Information to ad-hoc peer reviewer
The role of ad-hoc consultant member for IPH Journal requires a direct invitation from the editor; additionally, the position is exclusively for PhD researchers with outstanding performance researching healthcare environments.
IPH issues a Declaration of Participation to all peer reviewers.
Peer reviewers are free to analyze texts according to their own criteria. However, we suggest a thorough appreciation of the following items:
- Suitability and relevance to healthcare environments;
- Subject of study clearly defined;
- Clear goals of research;
- Clear methodology, suitable to the subject of research;
- Suitable and updated bibliography, regarding the topic and the subject of the research.
The decision regarding the approval or rejection of the manuscript must be issued according to the sample sent by the editor, which must inform:
- Accepted without revisions (the manuscript is sent to final proofreading, translation and publication).
- Accepted with revisions (the manuscript is sent back to the author; after corrections, it is sent to the same peer reviewer for another assessment, until it is accepted without revisions).
- Rejected, informing the author the reason for rejection.
Participation of members of the Editorial Board as authors:
Members of the Editorial Policy Board, Editorial Scientific Broad, ad-hoc editors and/or consultants are not allowed to submit scientific articles in the same issue in which they were acting as such, unless their contribution is clearly labeled “Institutional” and formally authorized by the Editorial Board. In this case, a temporary dismissal from the Editorial Board must be required by the author, hence ensuring the unbiased assessment by the Journal.
