June 2nd, Architect Jarbas Bela Karman, responsible for envisaging and founding IPH, passes away.
2007
IPH College of Hospital Administration ceases its operations. However, the institute maintains its commitment to the development of hospital research.

IPH helps to organize the 24th International Seminar, hosted by the Public Health Group of the International Union of Architects – UIA-PHG, held in Brazil.

Launching of IPH Journal, replacing the prestigious Hospital de Hoje Magazine but maintaining the same vision and goal of providing information to healthcare professionals and being IPH’s official means of communication.

Through its research branch, IPH becomes a member of the Standardization Commissions of the Brazilian National Standardization Forum (ABNT).

IPH opens its first headquarters on Duquesa de Goiás Avenue, 262, in association with AHESP.

IPH teaches an Intensive Care Nursing Practitioner Specialization Course at Matarazzo Hospital, in São Paulo.
1974
In response to an invitation made by the Institute for Technological Research of the State of São Paulo (University of São Paulo), Jarbas Karman and Jayme Rosembojn are named IPH representatives in matters regarding the research of hospital and medical material.
1973
IPH receives the certification to open the first College of Hospital Administration in Latin America, running it until 2007. At first, the college is established in São Camilo Benefit Society’s building, offering regular courses in the areas of Hospital Administration, and Business, besides post-graduation and extracurricular courses. Classes began on February 1974.
1970
IPH teaches the 4th course of Hospital Laundry at the Nursery School of Santa Catarina Hospital, in São Paulo.

IPH is named Brazilian Institute for Hospital Development and Research, and moves to a temporary headquarters on Xavier de Toledo Street, 210, 4th floor.
IPH teaches the 1st Aseptic and Sterilization Technique Course, in São Paulo.
Release of the first issue of Hospital de Hoje Magazine, aimed at hospital architects, engineers and administrators. Hospital de Hoje is published until 1969, when it is incorporated by Vida Hospitalar, magazine published by AHESP, Associação dos Hospitais do Estado de São Paulo (Association of Hospitals of the State of São Paulo).
1954
IPH organizes the 2nd Course of Hospital Planning, in association with the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB), in São Paulo.
January 25th: on the day that the city of São Paulo celebrates its 400-year anniversary, the National Institute of Hospital Research and Development (INPDH) holds its Inaugural Meeting. INPDH is firstly established in São Camilo Society’s building, in São Paulo.
1953
In association with the University of São Paulo, the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB) hosts the 1st Course of Hospital Planning, organized by the Commission of Hospital Planning, formed by architects Amador Cintra do Prado, Jarbas Karman and Rino Levi. After this event, it becomes clear the need of an institution able to foster the development of knowledge in Hospital Architecture and Planning, which led to the creation of the National Institute of Hospital Research and Development (INPDH).
