The lecture "Safety Management within a Net" displayed the experience of Mãe de Deus' health system regarding safety management. The main challenges of an operation undertaken within a net is to work with Management System, Information System and People Management. The integration embraces the Financing System, the Entrepreneurial Management System, the Clinical Information System and the specialized systems. After establishing the risk management nucleus/patient's safety nucleus, protocols are created to decide the processes to be implemented in each hospital / health service unity and, afterwards, the corporative protocols are defined. Two outside audits (SSMD and accreditation), an inside audit and educative processes (SSMD) are responsible for the follow up, assuring the unity of the system.
