The panel "Perspectives for Hospitals Acting upon Public and Private Health in an Adverse Economic Scenario" showed how the Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo is facing the current challenging and adverse economic scenario through a more efficient management. The administration board has developed strategies with the hospital's different departments in order to cut costs and make hospital services more efficient. Therefore, the contracts of services undergo ongoing evaluation and monitoring; the contracts of equipment maintenance were unified, bidding processes were improved; among other measurements of great impact for the hospital's economy and efficiency. This range of strategies belongs to the implementation of a new model of management established in 2011 and is due to be fully in service in 2018.
