Summary: "Amigos do Nariz Vermelho" Project Gilberto Rizzo Junior

The Amigos do Nariz Vermelho Project was implemented in 2006 at Hospital das Clinicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo and aims at taking the art of clowns to the hospital environment. It is a playful way to distract patients, their companions and employees while waiting for assistance. Professional actors and clowns that use improvisation as an important artistic tool to enhance interaction between patients and the hospital form the group. The project tries to improve the environment and take some joy to patients waiting for ambulatory assistance, in the ER, in chemotherapy, for a transplant and other spaces.
